Slowly we were losing money and both my parents had hard times getting more. The IRS had already come taken most of our furniture. We all knew we were going to lose the house eventually but we never lost hope. One day I was out running when I passed an open alley way. Two guys were fighting and there were people surrounding them. They were fighting like crazy. No gloves, no protection. I watched three more fights until I finally caught on. Anyone who wanted to fight got the chance and who ever won the fight got money. Before I knew what I was doing I walked up to them and demanded to get a chance to fight. A guy who was three times my size stepped forward and punched my in the stomach. I barly felt it and we fought. I fought and fought and fought until one of the guys got in between us and said I had won the fight. He handed me 500 dollars in cash. I had run all the way home and quietly went into the house. When I saw myself in the mirror in the bathroom I was surprised. The only mark on my face was a smudge of dirt and four scraches. I then relized I was good at fighting. I gave my mom the money and lied. I had said I had gotten a job. After just two months my family was out of debt. At that point I stopped fighting but then we got back into the debt. I knew I had to continue fighting no matter what. ***Four Years Later*** I was now 18 and had gone to the alley everyday to fight. Every morning and all day Saturday. Any other day I just fought in the morning. Out of the four years I haven't lost a single fight. I fought with my whole heart. My parents and my brothers had no idea about me fighting and I liked it best that way. I don't have much in my life except for my family. Until I met her. At first she was just another problem free girl I always saw in the park on the way to the alley. But that particular Saturday she was talking to some guy I had never seen. She looked mad and was yelling at him. She then said one more thing before turing and walking away. But then the guy she had been yelling at grabbed her arm and pulled her back. He slapped her repeatingly across the face. I ran up to him and punched him in the face. I gave him a bloody nose in one punch, he then ran away. ???-"Thanks." Me-"Your welcome." Rebecca-"I'm Rebecca." Me-"Joe." Rebecca-"Well again thanks." She turned and walked off. And for some reason I ask her something. Me-"Why do you let him hit you like that?"
