| I'm Yours a Jemi Story E1Thu, 08 Jan 2009 12:59:47 -0800 by JemzforJemiI DO NOT OWN THE SONG ON THE VIDEO Okay guys so you told me and at least there was no one who said eew this is your worst idea ever. Except for the jerk who keeps claming my video. The songs yours! ok! Not mine! Yours! Okayz here it is First episode of I'm Yours a Jemi story -------------------- -------------------- --------- (Demi's POV) I sat on the warm white sand as I gazed onto the sea watching the ember sun slowley fall. The surf today was just brilliant. And Selena got to take the bus here so she spent almost all day with me . She had just left. A day with Selena is a day hearing all about the jonas brothers. More specificly Nick but still all of them. I looked out to see a sharks dorsil fin way out to the northeast of the sea. Selena would freack out if she saw him. But I know that there is a net there somewhere and Al the neighborhood fisherman had just caught it. He likes to wait until the shark dies until he reels it in. Al is a plump tan man who sailed here from the bahamas and loved it so much here on Dovers Island. He opened a dock here and was the happiest man I've known. He shouted at me from where he was sitting on the dock "How was the surf?" he shouted. "Not bad at all" I shouted as he reeled in the shark for his family's dinner. So now you know how Al ended up on Dovers Island. How did I get here? That's another story. Dovers is exactly 419 miles east of the bahamas and 390 miles south of the burmuda triangle. My dad had a wealhty foster family and they bought the island. He grew up here learning how to surf and knowing everything about the island. I've yet to unravel all of my island's secrets. My mom came onto Dovers island because she was a Marine Bioligist. Dover's has one of the most vibrant and diverse coral reefs anywhere. I should know. It's my back yard. The minute my mom met my Dad. My mom says it was magical. Mom got pregnant with Dallas and later got married to my Dad. Then they had me. I can still faintly remember the times my Dad would hold me in his arm's and tell me the princess of the island was born. I would smile everytime I remembered that. Three months after my birth Dad had went out surfing and dissapered. a week later tourists found his drowned body on the shores of a resort in the bahamas. Dallas told me my Mom's sobs could be heard from the other side of the island. Al would tell his wife that the Queen was mourning. Also one thing. Al and his wife are Selena's parents. They live four miles away. When Al comes he stays in a shack made for him. Selena bick rides four miles just to see me. I keep telling her she doesn't have to. But she want's to. Until she has to leave three hours later for dinner. There is not a school here on the island for there are only two children here. We are each home schooled by our mothers. After Dad's death my mom quit her job as a Marine Bioligist and opened up a rehabilitation center. Or rehab. I fiqured this was a good place to have a rehab. No annoying paparazzi to bother you. And the beaches to any one else but me would be like heaven like my mom tells me. Ever so slightley the red sun had set. Now I was left in picth darkness besides the lantern I had with me. I started walking back towards my beach house. Tomarrow would be saturday and selena and mom would have thier day off. (A/N You can see a picture of the house in the video) I headed to the koi pond next to the house. Besides the annoying crickets all I could hear was the fish bobbing thier mouths knowing I would give them food. I grabbed the bag of pellets and started dumping it into the pond. The fish slowly swam away into the dark side of the pond. I saw the reflection of the full moon over the pond and I smiled to myself. Mom had always told me every full moon something exiting happens. I went inside into my room. I quickly changed into my PJ's and fell asleep The next morning I was awakened by a tud and a long deep sigh. Mom's home. I remember that when Dallas was still here she and mom would have lots of fights. Then Dallas got accepted to Harvard! I was so happy for her. But know it's kinda quiet. SHE ROX!!!)CharactersAmb er Nicole Garret (goes by Nicole or Coley for short): 20 years old. 5/6, long curly brown hair, brown eyes. Out of school, wants to go to college. Shy, and has no friends (has trust issues) except her sister and Halle. She wasnt as close to Halee as Alice, but she liked her and was able to trust her. Halee was her sisters best friend. Usually dresses in band tees, jeans and converse. Lives with her dad, older brother, Marcus, and little sister, Alice. Her mom died of a drug overdose so they were left with their alcoholic dad. Their dad had only wanted sons, so Nicole and Alice were usually treated badly. Marcus loved tormenting them, and had actually broken bones before. Their dad usually encouraged this. Nicole would have left with Alice a long time ago, but she wasnt able to get enough money to do it. Every time she saved up enough for a bus fare, her dad or Marcus would take it, she was hoping that they wouldnt find her current hiding place. She had recently entered a contest to win a trip to Hollywood and be on J.O.N.A.S. She thought it would be really fun being on a T.V. show w/ her favorite band (AN: arent they always in these things??? Lol u know what I just realized???? J.O.N.A.S is basically Disneys version of a JB fanfic! Hahah am I right or what??) She never really expected to win, and had only done it with hopes to get her and Alice away from their dad.Alice Marion Garret: 16 years old. 5/3, long dirty blonde hair, blue-green eyes. Kinda a scene kid. Only opens up to Nicole and best friend Halee. Likes to wear lots of eyeliner, dresses like her sister only more dark. The outcast in school, and prefers it that way. She hates her dad and brother, and has tried to run away about 8 times. Each of those times she was caught by the police. Her and Halee, who could pass as her twin sister, are constantly doing something that usually involves the police showing up. Shes not a bad kid, just likes doing things her own way, even if that means getting in tons of trouble. She loves music. She is always finding bands that no one has ever heard of. She likes stuff like Boys like Girls, Blink 182, Switchfoot, and her favorite are the Jonas Brothers. That is one of the reasons her and Nicole are so close, that they have nearly the exact same taste in music. Her goal in life is to get as far away as possible from her dad, get rich then find a way to rub it in his face.Halee Kimberly Brian: 18 years old. 5/2, short black hair, green eyes. Pretty much exactly like Alice. Is a total Goth kid. She is an orphan. Her parents drove off a bridge and drowned when she was three. Ever since she wont go anywhere near a bridge without practically breaking down. She has no fear of water, only bridges. She is constantly being passed from foster parent to foster parent. Once her family tried to move and it took a whole week for them to find her after she ran away. The only family she had ever liked she had been placed with when she was 14. But unfortunately the her dad had gotten cancer and the home took her away from them. She mostly spends all her time with Alice and Nicole. Her and Alice are practically inseparable, and mostly the reason she doesnt commit suicide. She is generally a happy person, but only when she has something to do. That is usually the reason behind hers and Alices antics. She has to keep her mind busy, or she gets all weird. A good kid most of the time.And of course the amazingly talented Jonas BrothersWell???? Various other phrases also deemed unacceptable. Following the lead of Humanists in London and Washington in the USA, with their intended bus signs, an International program by Humanists and Atheists was to commence on the 20 January 09 using buses to express the secular viewpoint. Richard Dawkins in supporting the London bus signs has stated that such a campaign Will make people think. President of the Atheist Foundation of Australia Inc, David Nicholls said: I am flabbergasted. This is extremely disappointing and a severe blow to freedom of expression in Australia. We are witnessing the result of seemingly paranoid executives interfering with pertinent social comment. This action has thwarted the right to state peacefully and openly a legitimate and timely message without violence.Australia is going to look provincial and narrow in outlook to the rest of the world because of this decision. The planet is moving to a more enlightened era but apparently, public transport advertising agents in Australia have missed the bus. | Atheist bus ad campaign in UK 2-3Thu, 08 Jan 2009 12:22:08 -0800 by linestAtheists launch an ad campaign on buses across the U.K. Lonzo Cook reports.Atheist adverts declaring that "there's probably no God" have been placed on 800 buses around Britain after an unprecedented fundraising campaign. Organisers originally hoped to put the message on just a handful of London buses, as an antidote to posters put up by religious groups which they claimed were "threatening eternal damnation" to non-believers.But after the campaign received high-profile support from the prominent atheist Prof Richard Dawkins and the British Humanist Association, the modest £5,500 target was met within minutes and more than £140,000 has now been donated since the launch in October.Enough money has now been raised to place the message "There's probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life" on 200 bendy buses in the capital for a month, with the first ones taking to the streets.A further 600 buses carrying the adverts will be seen by passengers and passers-by in cities across England, Wales and Scotland, from Aberdeen and Dundee to York, Coventry, Swansea and Bristol.In addition, two large LCD screens bearing the atheist message have been placed in Oxford Street, central London, while 1,000 posters containing quotes from well-known non-believers will be placed on Underground trains for two weeks starting on Monday.They feature lines doubting the existence of God, and celebrating the natural world, written by Albert Einstein, Katharine Hepburn, Douglas Adams and Emily Dickinson.It is the first ever atheist advertising campaign to take place in Britain, and similar adverts are now also running on public transport in America and Spain.Ariane Sherine, a writer who first thought of the atheist bus adverts, said: "You wait ages for an atheist bus, then 800 come along at once. | excerpt of PLAZA, 2007Thu, 08 Jan 2009 11:53:04 -0800 by dsconarKitchener, Ontario is about midway between London where I lived for a couple of best of times/worst of times years and Toronto, Canadas primary metropolis. Id traveled past Kitcheners exit countless times, but never bothered turning in until K/WAG invited me to participate in their Parochial Views program. According to Wikipedia, Kitcheners downtown core has experienced urban decay, thanks largely to the decline of industrial jobs in the city and the growth of its suburbs. Preliminary inquiries sketched an unflattering portrait of it as grungy neighbour to the very nice university town of Waterloo. This was not my experience; I was impressed by how much the citizens of Kitchener enjoy their city, the casual ownership of public space that people seem encouraged to take there. The plaza in front of the city hall is part bus station part resort playground; I like to think of it as the Kitchener Riviera. While gentleman of the model boat club flexed their handiwork on one side of the pool, a more salt of the earth crowd cackled and shouted ribald greetings at comrades returning from the can at the other end. Teens made out on the steps, new parents wheeled elaborate strollers around, and a fender bender out on the street gave some focus to a range of loiterers. Not bad for a Wednesday night. The footage for Plaza was gathered when a block or two up the main drag the street was fenced off for a rock n roll extravaganza. Thousands of people attended were genuinely entertained, the pond was splashing, and when darkness fell an impromptu shopping cart grand prix ignited. Kitchener is a charming and funny town.
