Cecilia Solo Optional Boss 6 - Ragu Ragla 2/2 (Wild Arms optionals)
Thu, 08 Jan 2009 14:04:52 -0800 by Beastly242

Optional Battle vs. Ragu Ragula @ Abyss (part 2)Cecilia's level: 55255 item duplication trick is BANNED. I won't be using it - don't ask. For nooblets and nabs.Notes:- For those of you who believe that Ragu is impossible with just Cecilia by herself, I shall prove you wrong!- If you want to spam Goat Dolls, be my guest. My strategy outlined below does not include spamming Goat Dolls. Of course, I brought SOME (only 15 of them), of which I used only five for the ENTIRE battle, and this is the only battle in the game where Goat Dolls were used. So don't comment telling me all I had to do was spam Goat Dolls; my strategy will NOT work if you spam Goat Dolls.- For preparation, I got a bunch of Magic Carrots from winning the third battle at the Ancient Arena, and they are needed unless you want to spam Goat Dolls (which I didn't). I also have 15 Goat Dolls for emergencies.- Ok. Ragu has four attacks. A normal physical attack which hits rather hard at about 1500-ish+, Zero Armor Attack hits VERY hard at ~3,000-ish damage, Poison Breath which inflicts poison status, and the infamous Volcanic Bomb which is a guaranteed OHKO. Yes, I realize that one of those badges that can be stolen in the Abyss can prevent it, but I'm not allowed to use Jack, remember (plus I don't even have Trickster learned)?- First things first, we absolutely MUST slow down Ragu ASAP, as he's fast. Two Slow Downs or 1 Slow Down and a Quick spell will do the trick. However, Ragu must not open the battle with Volcanic Bomb or else it's game over (unless you use a Goat Doll on the first turn, which is just lame). We also want to equip the Force Unit first turn to build up force as fast as possible so we can get some early damage in with "Necrotina". All damage will come from High Guardian summoning because Ragu absorbs all elemental spells.- Next, we must cast Life Guard, because Ragu has at least a 25% chance to kill Cecilia every turn with Volcanic Bomb, once she dies and comes back from Life Guard, this chance increases to 50% if Dummy Doll is used to negate his normal physical, and 75% if not. Now since Cecilia's force gauge empties every time she's killed and brought back to life, we won't have many opportunities to go on the offensive. So we have to be very patient with Ragu's attacks, replacing Life Guards as needed. Always keep the Force Unit equipped.- Basically, we have to wait until Ragu uses Poison Breath. This is the ONLY time where we have a chance to heal and attack. Once this happens, we heal up to full with a Nectar. That way, if he uses Zero Armor Attack on his next turn, we can survive it. Cecilia should reach level 3 force on her next turn (this is why you want the Force Unit equipped), once she does, we equip the Necronomicon and summon Raftina for a decent 7k-ish damage while healing up at the same time. Then we re-equip the Force Unit and try to stay alive until we reach level 3 Force again, then repeat until Ragu uses Volcanic Bomb.- While waiting for Poison Breath, you could try a very risky move and heal to full after being revived from Life Guard instead of casting Life Guard. Ragu's attacks are random, though; IMO, it's better to be safe than sorry, because if he catches you without a Life Guard/Goat Doll up and he uses Volcanic Bomb, you're done for.- Overall strategy sounds simple, but it's not. See, Life Guard costs a hefty 30 MP, and depending on how many times Ragu kills Cecilia, she's bound to run out of MP at some point. THIS is the point where we absolutely have to use a Goat Doll to survive Ragu's next attacks (unless it's Poison Breath). When it's time to use a Goat Doll, we use a few Magic Carrots to replenish MP, then go back to using the Force Unit and casting Life Guards, waiting for Ragu to use Poison Breath. We repeat this procedure until Cecilia runs out of MP again, and resort to Goat Dolls and Magic Carrots.- The only way we can lose this battle with this strategy is if you run out of Magic Carrots AND run out of Goat Dolls, and Cecilia has less than 30 MP left. This strategy may sound long-winded, but I am 150% sure that this strategy works. You have to patient with Ragu and hope that he doesn't drain your Magic Carrot and Goat Doll supply out.Enjoy.

Metal Gear Solid 4 - Game
Thu, 08 Jan 2009 13:09:13 -0800 by wonerigilandi

http://games-downloa d.awardspace.comNot that you don't have all the tools for completely avoiding your enemies if you choose that route. Snake's got the basics covered: crawling, hugging walls, peeking around corners, and hanging from ledges, for example. Cover mechanics are tighter than ever, so you can crouch and take potshots from behind cover with ease. There are also a number of important gadgets that will make your life easier in this regard. The most obvious of these is your OctoCamo suit, which takes on the texture of your surroundings when you're prone or pressed against cover. Not only does this make it simpler to avoid watchful eyes, but it's also a cool visual effect. Eventually, you'll be able to camouflage Snake's head, and a few of the available camo options are bound to stir some fans' nostalgia. The Solid Eye is your other major tool, as it expands your compass into a sonic-sensitive radar and allows you to use night vision and a tactical first-person view. These are helpful gadgets indeed, even during boss fights, like a stirring encounter in a blinding blizzard. Other gadgets, such as portable hiding places (cardboard boxes and rusty barrels) and the Metal Gear Mk. II (a stealthed robot that you can command as a scouting device), are useful to anyone who prefers the sneaky approach. Not every gadget is a welcome addition, though. For example, the much-ballyhooed iPod is a neat touch, but to use it, you cannot have another gadget equipped, so you'll quickly forget the option even exists. But aside from these nitpicks, one of the things that makes the core gameplay so enjoyable is that you're rarely strapped into a single style of play. Shooting your way through requires more thought and care than you'd put into a standard action game, but you never feel as though the gun mechanics are stuffed uncomfortably into a stealth game. If you'd rather sneak, you never have the impression that stealth was shoehorned into a game that's meant to be played as a shooter. Sure, you're Solid Snake--you're not supposed to get caught. But if you're stuck in a jam, breaking stealth isn't a death sentence, and in fact, facing certain enemies head-on is often a heart-pounding, challenging experience. The few levels that do force you into one style, such as one in which you shadow your target through an Eastern European city, are still great, if not quite as impactful. You'll need to keep an eye on Snake's stress levels and psyche. Though these aspects are more peripheral than health levels, they fit nicely within the plot. When Snake gets stressed (if he gets cold or encumbered, for example), his psyche gauge starts to deplete. The lower the gauge, the slower you will move and the less quickly you replenish health. Generally speaking, the psyche meter is rarely a factor, and should you notice Snake groaning a bit more, there are items like compresses you can use for a pick-me-up. Should the meter get too low, you won't be able to hold up your weapon or rush for cover. This doesn't happen often though, and while you'll need to keep a close eye on your health for obvious reasons, you won't need to pay too much heed to psyche.

The R.O.M.E.O.s-The Unquiet American Series
Thu, 08 Jan 2009 12:19:50 -0800 by cinelanfilms

Directed by Katy Chevigny. The ROMEOS is a short documentary film about long relationships - good conversation amongst old friends. And we're talking old friends. The ROMEOs is an informal club of 5 old time New Yorkers, men aged 72-87, who have met every week for the past 20 years at the Metro Diner in New York City. It is a long lunch to talk about anything and everything; telling old jokes, making fun of each other, complaining about politics. Naturally they have nicknames: Mr. Indignant (his capacity for outrage knows no bounds), Mr. Google (this guy know everything, you won't believe it), and The Token Goy. They are retired lawyers, writers and left-wing troublemakers and they are utterly hilarious without even trying.

David Rovics - In one world

"[This song] is loosely based on a story I read from Palestine Monitor."www.davidro vics.comIn 1948 I fled my villageThe Stern Gang drove my family from the landsWe ran into the desertWhere I've spent these decades living by my handsLife in Haifa wasn't easyBut so much better than this hellhole with the soldiers and barbed wireAnd the closures, and the hungerThe humiliation and the checkpoints, the machine gun fireAnd each day I wonder after HaifaThe home that we abandoned when the Zionists had wonIs there a family with a childDoes it's father love it as I loved my only sonBefore the soldiers shot him downRiddled him with bullets in his back and in his headHome in Haifa, in my houseDoes someone's father know the pain there is in an empty bedIn 1960 I fled my countryLeft the Tigris River for this foreign placeI had to leave home, I didn't want toBut they were rounding up the leftists and the papers had my faceAnd my son, a student leaderOn the streets of Baghdad was nowhere to be foundSo I walked through the mountainsJust the shirt upon my back, knowing not where I was boundNow here I am, this town of HaifaIn this little house, but at least I'm still aliveAnd each night I wonder how is BaghdadWould I recognize my friends if any did indeed surviveIt took a long time, but I made a home hereAnd I wished my son could be here in this town upon the shoreI was with my wife, it was the SabbathWhen an old Arab couple knocked upon our doorWe asked them in, gave them teaFor that's what you do with strangers, and we could see they meant no harmThey told their story, we told oursUs of our life in Baghdad, them of their family farmAnd of this house, which they once lived inWhere once they raised a family, long before their hair turned greyOf their son, and the troopersAnd of ours, who we cry for every daySo much in common, so much gone badSo much running, and never coming homeYou can hear the cards falling downSee the faces of the children, forever forced to roamAnd here we were, in this houseFearing that tomorrow would be just like yesterdaySo much resentment, so much at stakeAnd I really don't remember who was the first to sayIn one worldIn one villageIn one homeLet us live together---About video:This song doesn't need any visuals, but I wanted something bit more than just blank screen. - virne/kooma

?Journey To Mecca - In The Footsteps of Ibn Battuta?
Thu, 08 Jan 2009 09:17:00 -0800 by mooc92

?Journey to Mecca tells the story of Ibn Battuta, (played by Chems Eddine Zinoun) a young scholar, who leaves Tangier in 1325 on an epic and perilous journey, travelling alone from his home in Morocco to reach Mecca, some 3,000 miles to the east. Ibn Battuta is besieged by countless obstacles as he makes his way across the North African desert to Mecca. Along the route he meets an unlikely stranger, the Highwayman (played by Hassam Ghancy) who becomes his paid protector and eventual friend. During his travels he is attacked by bandits, dehydrated by thirst, rescued by Bedouins, and forced to retrace his route by a war-locked Red Sea. Ibn Battuta finally joins the legendary Damascus Caravan with thousands of pilgrims bound for Mecca for the final leg of what would become his 5,000 mile, 18 month long journey to Mecca. When he arrives in Mecca, he is a man transformed. We then experience the Hajj as he did over 700 years ago, and, in recognition of its timelessness, we dissolve to the Hajj as it is still performed today, by millions of pilgrims, in some of the most extraordinary and moving IMAX® footage ever presented. Ibn Battuta would not return home for almost 30 years, reaching over 40 countries and revisiting Mecca five more times to perform the Hajj. He would travel three times farther then Marco Polo. His legacy is one of the greatest travel journals ever recorded. A crater on the moon is named in his honour.

Our openness leads us to total insanity; our inner minds melt and cause instability and anxiety. Questioning is kept outside these blinded minds during all the cruel days we go forward. We are blinded to be all alone in this world, we are bound to stay in front of those eyes, we are grinded by our ways to give and it is time to let go and give away all there was before.
