Bells' POV When we got home later that night mom was home too. She was sitting on the couch smoking. I leaned down and whispered to T.J. and Lucas. Me-"Guys go upstairs and be quiet, and don't come back down." T.J.-"Why?" Me-"It'll be okay just go on." I made sure to hear their door shut before I went in the living room. When she smoked she was mad, and the more she smoked the madder she got. Mom-"Where were you?" Me-"Eating dinner at a friends house." Mom-"Do you have any idea how worried I've been?" Me-"Yeah right." Mom-"What is that suppose to mean?" She couldn't seriously be asking that question could she? Me-"Mom you've never been there for us. We were hungry, I went o the store and ran into a friend and he invited me to dinner with his family. That's it." Mom-"He?" Me-"Yes, mom he." Mom-"Why did T.J and Lucas go?" Me-"He invited them too." She stood up and walked over to me, glaring the whole time. Mom-"I have always been there for you, and T.J and Lucas." Me-"The only time you've been there for us was when dad was alive." She slapped me across the face. Then pushed down and pressed the cigarette into my arm. I kept my mouth closed from screaming so T.J and Lucas wouldn't come down. Mom-"Never bring up your father again." She stomped on the cigarette and then stomped on my face. I waslaid there pretending to be crying and waited. And waited. And waited. And waited. Until I finally heard it, the click of moms lights in her bedroom turning off. She was asleep. Wasting no time I quietly ran up to T.J and Lucas's room. They were both asleep and it took me nearly forever to wake them up. Lucas-"What is it?" Me-"Shh, I want both of you to be quiet don't talk at all until we're in the car. I want you guys to quietly get dressed and put all the clothes you have in a bag and if you have any money take that too. Don't worry about anything else just clothes and money." I left them without saying anything else. I put all my clothes and money in my old backpack and got my keys. When I went to the front door Lucas and T.J were already there. We got everything into the car and drove off. They didn't bother me with any questions the whole time we eventually came to a stop. Right in front of Raindrop Park. Me-"Guys we're going to be staying for just a while. When you go to school tomorrow don't tell anybody we're here." i hope you all liked it

Joe's POV 1 year. 365 days. 52 weeks. 12 months. Thats how long it's been. Seems impossible, I know, it seems like it's been so qucikly but not for me. It's been a year since I've seen Felicia. It's been a year since my best friend Tristin finally asked Felicia out. It's been a year since I've drank a cup of chocolate cream coffee. It's been a year since Josh Berg, an abusive jerk, was arrested for hitting and beating an innocent girl. It's been a year since my family found out that I fought for money, to help save us, that same day they found out was the same day they forgave me. It's been a year since the Knockout, where I had to break the heart of the only girl I've ever loved. It's been a year since I've seen those deep blue eyes brightin at a joke, since I've seen that long, wavy, black hair sway, since I've heard that laugh that was so sweet and so pure. It's been a year since I've kissed her. It's been year since I've seen Rebecca. But, it hasn't been a year since I've thought about her. Every minute of everyday I think about her and wonder if I did the right thing by leaving her, to protect her. When she didn't cry or yell, she only laughed and rolled her eyes. The fact that she didn't cry at every little thing that most girls would cry about was one of the things I love about her. I think I fell in love with her again. That's one of the things I regret, never telling her I loved her. It makes me wonder if she ever loved me. That's not all I wonder though. Has she changed at all? Maybe. Has she cut her hair? Probably not. Did she get taller? No, she was really short the last time I saw her. Does she hate me for what I did? Definitly. All I want now is to make sure she's okay. To make sure she's still that funny, teasing, innocent, beautiful girl. To make sure she's still Rebecca. That's all I need. i hope u all liked the first chapter

I ran over to where Rebecca was. Me-"Rebecca what are you doing?" Rebecca-"Getting ready to fight." Me-"You don't have to take my place." Rebecca-"I know how much fighting means to you. If you fight for one more minute you'll never get to fight again." Me-"I don't want to see Josh hit you." Rebecca-"You might be surprised when you see me fight." Me-"Since when did fighting become so important to you?" She looked over to where Josh was standing. Rebecca-"Lets just say it's a personal thing." It was then I realized Rebecca didn't care about the money. For years Josh had been hitting her and she never got to fight back and now she could. Me-"I guess I get it." Rebecca-"I'll be fine trust me." Me-"I do trust you. It's him I don't trust." Rebecca-"Please don't worry about it." Me-"Okay fine, but if I think that your about to get badly hurt I'm sending Tristin in as your Second." Rebecca smiled and hugged me in front of everybody. D.J.-"Alright, alright enough of this love fest I want to see a fight." I walked back over to Tristin who was standing with Felicia. Felicia-"Don't worry guys she'll be fine." Tristin-"How do you know?" Felicia-"I know her a little better than you guys." The fight started and Rebecca was actually doing a good job of blocking the punches, but it was when Josh hit her in her eye were the black eye used to be that she yelled out in pain. I stepped forward but Felicia and Tristin each put their hands on my shoulders. Tristin-"Joe, this is her fight." She straigtend up. Josh was about to kick her but she was to quick for him she was behind him and had him in a headlock. Rebecca-"This is for chocking me!" She dropped him then kicked him in the sides. Rebecca-"This is for cutting me." In one swift move she stood him up, brought back her fist and punched him again and again in the face. With every punch she spoke. Rebecca-"This. Is. For. Every. Time. You've. Ever. Hit. Me!" Then Josh fell back and was still except for his breathing. D.J-"That girl knocked him out!" There were cheers from everyone as two guys helped Rebecca walk to the back room where there were ice packs and First Aid kits. I followed them, when I got into the room she was sitting down with an ice pack held to her eye. In her hand was an envelope that I guess had the 8,000 dollars. I gently took her face in my hands and kissed her. Me-"I'm so proud of you." She smiled. Rebecca-"Thanks. Here I want you and your family to have the money." She handed me the envelope but I wish she hadn't it made me feel guilty for what I was about to do. Me-"I have to tell you something but you have to promise not to be mad." Rebecca-"I promise." Me-"We can't be together." She rolled her eyes and gave a small laugh. Rebecca-"It's for some stupid reason isn't it?" Me-"Tonight after I won a few fights the guys yelled at me saying that they were going to kill me. I know they'll go after you since your so important to me." One of the things I loved best about Rebecca she doesn't cry much. I guess being a girlfriend to Josh could toughen anyone up. She smiled, kissed my cheek and walked out of the room. I knew she understood. I knew that she knew that I only did this because I loved her more than anything. But I also knew she knew that this wasn't going to be the last time we saw each other. I knew that all the fights I fought here, all the fights I fought at the alley, none of them were my fights and my fight was still out there. But I knew that my fight was going to, in some way, have something to do with Rebecca. My fight was going to involove her. Joe's POV I pressed the ice pack to my knee and held it there. For two hours I had been fighting and so far my knee was getting hurt the most. I only had one more fighter to fight left. Josh. D.J-"Yo people I heard there is only one fight left. All the other fighters they've lost so many times that they've givin up! So the last fight is....Joe Jonas and Josh Berg!" Tristin came over to me and pushed me on the mat. Josh looked just as tired as me. Josh-"I'm going to hit you harder than I ever hit Rebecca." Then I couldn't help myself. I tackled Josh right to the ground and started punching him again and again in the face. It took nearly half the people in the whole hotel to stop it. D.J-"Hold on Jonas the fight hasn't started yet.....now it has FIGHT!" Josh tried to punch me but I was able to block them all off easily but then he brought back his leg and kicked me right in the knee. I fell on my knees in agony. The pain was unbearable. I felt for sure I was going to lose but then the D.J started yelling. D.J-"Hold on Berg we got a Second." Tristin came over and helped me up, while two other guys handed me another ice pack. Me-"Whats a Second?" One of the guys that gave me the ice pack answered. ???-"It's when one of the people from the crowd know's one of the fighters is hurt and knows that the fight wouldn't be fair so they Second themselves in the fighters place. The only thing is if the Second wins they get the 8,000 dollars." Me-"What? I need that money." Tristin-"Uh, um, Joe you uh you might want to turn around." Me-"Why?" Tristin-"Cause I'm looking at your Second." I turned around to see Rebecca standing on the mat. that was Part 1 Part 2 will be uploaded immediatly

Joe's POV *Two Weeks Later* That day I took Rebecca to see my photo album was probably the best day ever for me. At first I thought it was going to be my worst, but if it wasn't for that day, Rebecca would have continued to think I fought for the same reason Josh did, Felicia never would have forgivin me and Rebecca would have never become my girlfriend. Me and Tristin were walking to the coffee shop from the alley and we both sat at the counter. Rebecca-"Hey guys." Rebecca looked better too. The bruises were almost gone and her black eye was completly gone. Felicia came out from the kitchen carrying my chocolate cream coffee and Tristin's regular coffee. Tristin-"Thanks Felicia." Felicia-"Your welcome." Me and Rebecca could both see a relationship forming between Felicia and Tristin. But of course both of them were to stubborn to admitt it. We all talked for a while until mine and Tristin's cell phone both rang. At the same time. Me-"Hello?" ???-"I need those papers now!" Me-"What?" ???-"I don't want any of your excuses get me those papers or your fired." Then the person hung up, I looked over at Tristin to see him with the same confused look then we both undertsood. We had just been prank called. Me-"We got to go." Rebecca-"Why?" Tristin-"The Knockouts tonight." Rebecca-"I'm coming with you." Me-"No your not." Rebecca-"Yes I am. What if something happenes to you?" Me-"Nothing will, I don't want you to be there. You know Josh will be there and I'm not about to let him ner you again." Rebecca-"We haven't seen Josh in over two weeks." Me-"I don't care, I don't want you there." She looked at me with a scared look. I signed and kissed her on the forehead. Me-"Don't worry. Joe's POV Nick, Kevin and Frankie were all in the living room while dad was on the computer and mom was cooking. Only one thought was going through my head. Please, please, please, please don't embarrass me! Kevin-"Hey Joe. And person who we have never met before." Wonderful, their going to embarrass me. Me-"Uh, guys this is Rebecca. She's a friend of mine." Kevin-"Oh hi." Kevin, Nick, Frankie, dad and mom all came over to where we were standing and all shook her hand. Mom-"Please sit." She led Rebecca over to the couch and Frankie just stared at me. Me-"You need something Frankie?" Frankie-"She's pretty." I smiled a little. Me-"Yeah I know." Frankie-"Way to pretty for you." Someone just shoot me now. Me-"Frankie please don't embarrass. This is my last chance for her to forgive me for what I did." Frankie-"What did you do?" Me-"Nothing. Just please." Frankie-"Okay." We walked to the living room. Me-"Hey mom we're going to go out to the garage. That okay?" Mom-"Yes, go right ahead." Me and Rebecca walked out to the garage, silently. Rebecca-"What's in the garage?" Me-"The reason I fight. I want you to understand that I don't fight for the same reason Josh fights. I have my own personal reason." When we go to the garage I started looking all under the boxes and around the tools until I found what I needed. An old photo album. It was small and torn a little. Dust covered it completly that you could just barely see the red leather. Me-"I've had this album for four years and it only has 3 pictures in it. It shows what my family went through four years ago." I sat beside her on the front of my dads old car and opened the album. The first picture was of what our food pantry looked like when we went through the debt. The only things in it were a few old slices of bread, and 11 cans of food. Me-"We didn't have much food." Then I turned the page to a room with nothing init but two shredded blankets and one pillow. Me-"This was mine and Kevin's room." Then I turned the page to the a picture of the living room. All that was in it was a fireplace and 7 folding chairs. Me-"This was our living room." Me-"About four years ago my family went into debt. The IRS was taking our furniture, we had to sell some of our greatest items to buy just one thing. One day I was out running and I saw this group of guys standing around two other guys fighting. The winner of the fight got money. So I fought to earn some money for my family. If we hadn't gotten money in two more weeks we would have gotten kicked out of our house." Rebecca-"So you fight for your family. Not to feel strong or respected, just to help your family?" Me-"Yeah. Frankie was only four." Then, quickly, Rebecca leaned over and kissed me. Rebecca-"I don't think I've ever met a guy who loves his family more than you." i hope u all liked it next chapter will be up soon

Rebecca's POV I was lying in the dirt at the back of the coffee shop. I was slipping in and out of conscienceness. I tried to stand again...and again, but every time my side would ache with pain and my arms would feel lifeless. I had to get out of here and quickly, Josh could come back at any second. With every bit of little strength I had left I took out my cell phone from my pocket and dialed Felicia's phone number. Felicia-"Hey! You won't believe what Luke did, it was so romantic! He-" Me-"Josh beat me up again." Felicia-"What? Where are you?" Me-"Behind the coffee shop." Felicia-"I'll be right there." I hung up and waited for Felicia to come. I don't think it took her more than five minutes to get to me. Felicia-"Oh my gosh! Rebecca!" She helped me up and carried me out to her car. Me-"Is it okay if I stay at your house for a few days? My parents can't see me like this." Felicia-"Yeah of course." That is the last thing I can remember from that day. Joe's POV *3 Days Later* I walked to the coffee shop and for the third day in a row Rebecca wasn't there. Only Felicia. Silently Felicia handed me my chocolate cream coffee. Me-"Felicia you have to tell me something. Why hasn't Rebecca been here for three days?" Felicia-"I don't have to tell you anything. I promised Rebecca ." Me-"If I guess will you tell me if I'm right?" Felicia-"I guess that'll work." Me-"Josh." Felicia-"Okay how did you figure it out so quickly?" Me-"I'm not an idiot. So what happened?" She told me all about how Josh beat Rebecca up and how he choked her. For the second time. Felicia-"She only remembers a few things from when he beat her." Me-"You said she was staying at your house right?" Felicia-"Yeah." Me-"Can I go see her?" Felicia-"I guess but...just don't expect for her to be completly healed. I live on Sunlight Avenue. House number 114." Me-"Okay, thanks." I didn't drink any of my coffee and I didn't pay for it. Joe's POV *Two Days Later* I still couldn't believe I almost lost the fight to Josh. Nobody from my family found out, luckily. I was walking to the coffee shop from the alley when I got their I wasn't surprised Rebecca wasn't there. But lately Felicia had been sort mad at m lately I didn't know why. I sat at the counter and Felicia gave me my chocolate cream coffee without talking or looking at me. Me-"Felicia?" Felicia-"What?" Me-"Uh, why have you been mad at me?" Felicia-"I'm surprised you don't know. Your just lucky Rebecca isn't here." Me-"Why? I don't know what I did wrong." She rolled her eyes and started to clean the counter. Me-"Seriously Felicia, I don't know what it is I did to make you mad." Felicia-"Do the words you fighting Josh outside my house mean anything to you?" I was confused for a while and then I understood. Rebecca must have seen me fighting Josh and told Felicia. Now I couldn't blame them for being mad at me, especially Rebecca. She thought she could trust me and then she saw me fighting Josh. She probably thoughtb I was exactly like Josh. Abusive and a jerk. Me-"Felicia if I explained about that do you think you would understand?" Felicia-"I doubt it." Me-"Fine, but do you think if I explained to Rebecca she would understand?" Felicia-"She might she might not." Me-"Is she still at your house?" Felicia looked at me for a while and then signed. Felicia-"I've never liked Josh. And when I met you I thought you were differnet. I still think your different and Rebecca odviously really likes you. So yeah she's still at my house, but if Rebecca still doesn't forgive you don't expect me to forgive you." I left the coffee shop and walked to Felicia's house. After Felicia's dad was done asking me weird questions I went to where Rebecca was. When I knocked her voice sounded better. And when I opened the door she looked better too. Rebecca-"What do you want?" Me-"Felicia told me you saw me and Josh fighting." Rebecca-"Yeah I did, and I can honestly say that's how it started with Josh. I found out he fought and then he began to hit me." Me-"I can at least explain?" Rebecca-"I guess." Me-"Are you able to walk?" Rebecca-"What?" Me-"I won't be able to explain very well unless you're able to walk." Rebecca-"Where are we going?" Me-"My house, there's something there that I want you to see." Rebecca-"Okay." I waited outside for her to get dressed and we walked to my house. She didn't talk or ask any questions. Joe's POV I turned around and saw, of course, Josh. Without a single warning he punched me. But here was the weird part I felt the punch and it hurt. Bad! Josh-"I told you to stay away from Rebecca!" He punched me again and again. I was only able to block a few of them. Then I brough back my fist and punched him hard in the face. Blood immediatly came out of his mouth but he didn't stop. He just kept punching. Then he brought back his leg and kicked me right across the face. Rebecca's POV After Joe left I tried to go back to sleep but couldn't. Josh was serious when he said he would hurt Joe. I didn't want to Joe to be hurt. I especially didn't want him to be hurt by Josh, I knew better than anyone the kind of damage Josh could do. Then I heard a sound coming from outside. It sounded like someone groaning in pain. I carefully and slowly walked to the window and looked out. Outside stood Josh and Joe each hitting the other. Josh had blood coming from his mouth and Joe had a blood coming from his forhead. Josh was hurting Joe! Joe didn't even know how to fight and Josh was not giving him a fair chance. Then Josh began to punch Joe repeatingly in the stomach but...Joe was blocking each one. He even grabbed one of his hands and twisted it. Josh yelled out in pain. It was at that point that I understood everything. Joe fought and Josh fought. I liked Joe more than any guy I had ever met. He was sweet and funny and I thought he didn't know how to fight. I thought he hated to fight! Now here I was watching him fight. Now one question was all I needed answering. Josh was at first sweet and funny then he began to fight and that was when he started hitting me. Joe is sweet and funny and he's fighting right now. So the question is how do I know Joe won't start hitting me?

Joe's POV When I got to Felicia's house I knocked on the door and a man answered it. My guess was this was Felicia's dad. ???-"Yes?" Me-"Um I'm here to see Rebecca." ???-"Are you a friend of her's?" Me-"Yes sir." ???-"Have you ever had the chicken pox?" Me-"Uh, yeah I think so." ???-"I need more than a think." Me-"Yeah I've definitly had them before." ???-"Are you friends with Felicia?" Me-"Yes sir. Felicia actually was the one that sent me here to see Rebecca." ???-"Come in then. Rebecca's in Felicia's room, upstairs first door on your left. She's sleeping." I nodded and walked up the steps and softly knocked on the door. I heard a rough and sratchy voice come from the other side. It was Rebecca's voice. Rebecca-"Come in." Before I opened the door I prepared myself for the worst, Felicia said that she wasn't completly healed yet. I opened the door and saw Rebecca laying in a bed. Her left eye seemed alright but her right eye was just barely black. Her mouth had dried blood on it. Her arms were covered with brusies. And in perfect sight was her neck. She had her hair up in a pony tail and on one side of her neck was eight brusies and on the other side there were only two. Five for the first time he choked her and five for the second time. Rebecca-"Hi." Her voice sounded worse when I got closer. It sounded more rough and whispery. Me-"Hey." Rebecca-"What are you doing here?" Me-"I haven't seen you for three days. I was worried." She smiled. Rebecca-"I'm guessing Felicia told you the whole story." Me-"Yeah." Rebecca-"I figured she would, she can't keep secrets." Me-"What do her parents think?" Rebecca-"She told me yesterday that she told them that I was staying here because my parents were out of town and that I was 'sick' and needed someone to take care of me. They don't know I'm like this." Me-"Haven't they come up to make sure your okay?" Rebecca-"No, she told them I had the chicken pox. Felicia's the only one in her family that's had it." I laughed now I understood the questions. Me-"That explains a lot. What about your parents?" Rebecca-"The same thing. Neither of my parents have had chciken pox." She coughed for a few minutes and then layed back on the bed. Rebecca-"Can I ask you something?" Me-"Sure." Rebecca-"Did you see Josh a few nights ago." I thought about the night I went out for a run and saw him. That was the same night I made it clear to myself that Rebecca could never find out I fought. Me-"Yeah. I was out running and he was just acting like a jerk." Rebecca-"Oh, okay." I looked at my watch and saw that it was almost 7:00 p.m. Me-"Hey is it okay if I come see you tomorrow?" Rebecca-"Yeah, that would be nice." I smiled and walked outside. But then I felt a hard, tense hand grab my shoulder. i hope u liked it please comment and subscribe

Chapter 12 Rebecca's POV Me-"I still can't believe you talked to Josh like that. It just seems impossible." Felicia-"I wasn't about to let him hit you again." It was 9:00 p.m and we were the only ones there. Felicia looked at her watch and groaned. Felicia-"I'm late. Luke is taking me out for dinner tonight." Me-"Go, I'll be okay here." Felicia-"You sure?" Me-"Positive." Felicia-"You are the greatest best friend ever." She left running out of the shop. It was sort of scary being by myself but I'd deal with with it. But when I went to the back of the shop outside to throw away all the trash from today, was when I regreted it. He came out of no where. I never saw him coming and I never heard him. I only knew he was there when his fist hit my face. The power from the hit was so strong it knocked me to the ground. Josh-"If you scream or try to run your dead." Me-"You've told me that before and I ran. I'm still alive." Josh-"Maybe. But do you think your new boyfriend will stay alive?" I looked up at him in shock. He wouldn't hurt Joe, he couldn't hurt Joe. Josh didn't fight back when Joe first punched him in the park and he didn't fight back when Joe walked me home. Me-"You expect me to believe you'll actually hurt him?" Josh-"Well at first I thought he was just some guy. But I ran into him the other night and he seemed very.........protect ive of you, especially after I insulted you. So if I hurt you worse than ever he'll probably lose it and if I hurt him you'll lose it. And right now I want to make him suffer. So guess who gets another trip back to the hospital?" Then without one word of warning he punched me repeatingly in the face and stomach. Then he kicked my sides and slapped my face. Then just like he did on one of our dates he picked me up by the throat and chocked me. Already I could feel my head becoming light and dizzy then as it did the other time everything around me went black. i hope u all liked this chapter

Me-"Hey." Rebecca-"Hey." Me-"Can I ask you something?" Rebecca-"Yeah." Me-"Where's my coffee? You usually set it out before I even get here." Rebecca-"I decided I'm not going to serve you any more chocolate cream coffee. You've been drinking it everyday, that's unhealthy." Me-"Please tell me your joking." Rebecca-"I'm not joking." I smiled and started to tease her a little. Me-"Your a criminal, your mean." She laughed and reached under the counter and pulled out a cup filled with chocolate cream coffee. I laughed and put the money on the counter. Me-"Your pretty." Rebecca-"Smooth." Me-"You know what I just realized?" Rebecca-"That drinking chocolate cream coffee everyday really is unhealthy." Me-"No, I asked you out and we haven't gone on our date yet." Rebecca-"Yeah your right." Me-"So, I was wondering do you want to go out with me on Saturday at six o'clock?" Rebecca-"That sounds great." I smiled and did what I did the last time I asked her out. I ran out the door for no good reason. But then I saw something that made me turn around and go back. Josh had walked into the coffee shop. But the surprising thing was Rebecca was at the counter a girl with carmel colored hair and dark brown eyes was. And she looked mad. ???-"What do you want Josh? Rebecca isn't here." Josh-"Don't lie to me Felicia I saw her until you pushed her in the kitchen." Felicia-"Well if you want Rebecca then your going to have to go through me." Then Felicia leaned forward and whispered just loud enough for me to hear. Felicia-"And you know better then anyone that, that is not easy. Remember the last time you saw me?" Josh-"I can beat you up just like I've done to Rebecca. Remember the last time you saw Rebecca in the hospital after I beat her up?" Felicia-"I'd like to see you try to do that to me." Josh-"Drop dead." Felicia-"You first." Josh just stared at her and so did I. This girl, as innocent as she might look, scared him and she scared me a little too. Josh stormed out of the coffee shop and Rebecca slowly came out from behind the kitchen door. Rebecca-"Thanks Felicia." Felicia-"No problem." Rebecca-"Oh hey Joe. This is my best friend Felicia." Felicia-"Hi!" Me-"Hey." I stayed for a few more minutes to make sure Josh didn't come back and he didn't. Felicia seemed to scare him off for a while. Joe's POV I nearly jumped all the way out of my bed. A nightmare. I was seriously getting tired of this. I got out of bed and quietly snuk out of the house. It was still dark outside. Oh well, whenever I got confused or scared I would go out and run. No matter what. I ran all around the block and it didn't help so then I started running through town. I was in the middle of town when I heard him. Josh-"You're hanging out with Rebecca." He came out of some alley it was odvious he was trying to act scary and tough. Me-"If I am it has nothing to do with you." Josh-"Actually I think it has everything to do with me." Me-"Dude what you want? Rebecca's never going to take you back, you hit her and scared her." Josh-"I don't want her back. She's nothing but a worthless piece of life to me." That was it I couldn't tell you all that happened but suddenly I had him in a headlock and his face was quickly turning purple. Me-"Don't ever say anything like that again." I released him expecting him to run off but instead he just stood up and looked at me. Josh-"You seriously think she's going to think your different?" Me-"What?" Josh-"Your a fighter. I know I'm in the Knockout, I'm a fighter too." Me-"So? I don't care." Josh-"So, Rebecca broke up with me because I'm a fighter, you think she'll treat you differently?" Me-"She broke up with you because you hit her! Man you hit her, beat her, choked her and you cut her! It dosen't look like she broke up with you because you were a fighter." Josh-"I don't care how it looks to you. She'll break up with you like she did with me." Me-"You don't know anything about her." Josh-"And you do?" Me-"I know more than you. She isn't afraid to talk to me or tell me stuff, because she knows I would never hit her." Josh-"So you're playing the nice guy?" Me-"I'd rather play the nice guy and not the abusing guy." I then ran around him and back to my house. Josh was a fighter and right now the thing I knew was that Rebecca could never find out I was a fighter. hope you all liked it chapter 11 should be up soon

Chapter 9 Rebecca's POV I was running. Fast. Faster than anything. If you saw me you wouldn't think I was just out for a run. You would know I was running from something. Someone. My heart was racing, every beat was begging me to stop but with every breath I would refuse. Didn't it realize I was running for my life? I could feel my legs slowing and I tried to push them faster but they wouldn't. Then I felt a strong, hard, tense hand grabbed my shoulder. My eyes shot open and I sat up. My golden retriver Sassy eyed me from her bed mat by my bed. She quickly jumped up on my bed. I scratched her ears as she quickly fell back asleep. Me-"It's okay Sassy. Just another nightmare." I reached over to my nightstand and called Felicia. She answered after the fourth call. Felicia-"Hello?" Me-"What are you doing?" Felicia-"Sleeping. It's what most people do at night. What are you doing?" Me-"Having a nightmare." Felicia-"Say no more the doctor is here." Anytime I had a problem or something I didn't really understand I would call and ask Felicia and she has always been able to tell me what the answer was. I told her all about the nightmare. Felicia-"That's all that happened or that's all you remember?" Me-"All that happened." Felicia-"Well before you went to bed did you watch a scary movie or read some freaky book?" Me-"Nope." Felicia-"Well what happened after I went home and then you walked home after work today?" Me-"Joe walked me home." I now knew that she was awake. Completly. I told her all about how Josh had seen me and then how Joe helped me. Felicia-"Well it can't get more odvious than that." Me-"What?" Felicia-"Your nightmare was about Josh chasing you. My guess is that if you had slept longer you would have seen Joe saving you." I thought it over and it made sense. I sadi bye and apologized for waking her up. When I saw the time I knew I should go back to sleep. If I did maybe I would have the dream again, but for some reason I didn't go back to sleep. I was afriad to. If Felicia was right, and she usually is, then Joe would save me from Josh in my dream. So why did I feel like I couldn't trust Joe to save me? i hope you all enjoyed it chapter 10 should be uploaded in a few minutes

Chapter 8 Joe's POV What in the world did that jerk mean by I'll see you real soon? I didn't plan on seeing him again. I looked over at Rebecca and could tell she was trying to seem not bothered by Josh, but I could tell she was scared. Me-"You sure your okay?" Rebecca-"Yeah I'm just little upset but nothing major." Me-"Has he always been like that?" Rebecca-"No." Me-"Seriously?" Rebecca-"Yeah, we met in our freashman year in high school. You'll be surprised, he was actually voted most liked at the end of the year." Me-"Okay now I know your lying." Rebecca-"I swear I'm not. But then his parents got divorced and his mom got custody of him. She married only two weeks after the divorce. His step father had.....anger issues." Me-"So that's what made him like that." Rebecca-"Yep, I think he didn't want me to think that a forty two year old guy could hurt him, so he wanted me to know that he wasn't weak." I could feel the anger burning in me. There was no way he could have hurt her for only that reason. No one should hurt Rebecca for any reason. Me-"That's not a good reason." Rebecca-"Your right but thats just Josh." Me-"Do you hate him?" Rebecca shook her head and looked down at her feet as we walked. Me-"Do you still like him?" Rebecca-"Of course not, I just feel sorry for him." Me-"Why?" Rebecca-"His step father has made him feel like he has to be abusive and mean to be respected. No one should have to feel like that, and Josh feels that way. To me, to feel like that is the worst punishment anyone could ever get. I'll never love him like I used to, but I'm never going to hate because of something his step dad did." This girl felt sorry for her ex boyfriend?! The same ex boyfriend you cut her hand and choked her? Either Rebecca was really weird or really sweet. She stopped in front of an apartment building. Rebecca-"This is where I live." Me-"Well I'll see you tomrrow." She nodded then walked up the stone steps to the front door. i hope you guys enjoyed this chapter

Chapter 4 Bell's POV When I got home I could hear the noise of the t.v. coming from the living room. T.J. and Lucas were each watching the t.v with blank experssions on their face. Me-"Guys do you remember that guy from the ice cream parlor?" They both nodded not wanting to take their eyes off the show. Me-"Well we're going to his house for supper. That okay?" Once again I recived the silent answer yes. Me-"I'll be upstairs, we're leaving in half and hour." When I got to my room I grabbed one of my favorite books but only read a few pages until I thought of something. Was I suppose to dress up this? I immediatly tossed the book aside and ran to my closet. My clothes have never and will never be anything special or fancy or expensive. Just some shirts and jeans, a few blouses and skirts. After a careful look at all myclothes I chose a red rose blouse with plain blue jeans. Then I quickly brushed my hair. I looked at myself in the mirror. Me-"I'm ready." I ran down the stairs and to the living room and got T.J and Lucas into my jeep. Then I pulled out the piece of paper with Joe's address on it. Once we got to his house I felt so nerveous. Me-"Now guys be nice and respectful, not rude or anything like that. Promise?" T.J. and Lucas-"Promise." I knocked on the door and a woman with a kind face opened the it. When she saw us she quickly smiled. Denice-"Hello, I'm Denice. Joes mother, you must be Bell." She hugged me and I was completly shocked. I couldn't remember the last time someone had hugged me. Denice-"And who are you two?" Me-"These are my younger brothers. T.J. and Lucas." Denice hugged both of them and their reactions were the exact same as mine was. Denice-"Come in. Dinner will be ready in just a few minutes. Joe, Kevin, Nick and Frankie are all in the backyard if you would like to see them. Down that hall and you'll see the backdoor. It's the only door with a window." We walked and the whole time I saw things that I've never really seen before. There were pictures with a happy family, homemade pictues. Once we got to the backyard I saw Joe playing basketball with two other teenage boys and one little boy that looked a few years younger than T.J. and Lucas. I only knew a little about them, so I couldn't really tell who was Nick, Kevin and Frankie. That was when Joe saw me. Joe-"Hey Bell! Come here." As I got closer I got a better look at Nick, Kevin and Frankie. I think Frankie was the youngest. Right? Joe-"Bell these are my brothers Nick, Kevin and Frankie." Now I knew. Nick-"Hey." Frankie-"Hi Bell." Kevin-"Hi, Joe hasn't been quiet since he told us about you coming." Joe then slapped Kevin over the head. I pretended to cough but was really laughing into my hand. Me-"Hey. These are my little brothers T.J and Lucas." Frankie-"Do you guys want to play in my room?" Denice-"No they can't dinner's ready." When we got to the kitchen a man came up to me. Joe-"Bell this is my dad. Paul." Paul-"It's very nice to meet you Bell. Let's all sit and pray." Once we were all seated Paul said the prayer. Paul-"Father God we wish to thank you for this food. We also thank you for the tour it was indeed a blessing. Lastly we thank you for our dinner guests coming to visit. Amen." As we ate my thoughts were focused on the prayer he said. Had he really thanked me? No one had ever been thankful for mee being around them. My mom certainly didn't, who else would? Was this what it felt like? To sit with people you know and love and sit with them, eat with them, laugh with them? For the first time in my life I was looking at an actual family. i'm sorry it tokk me so long to upload i hope you liked this chapter

Chapter 7 Rebecca's POV I had a date! I had a date! I had a date! That was me celebrating in my mind my if you looked at me you would think I was just a calm girl walking down the streets with her overeacting best friend. Felicia-"Tell me everything again." Me-"Fine, he asked me out, I said yes, he smiled then ran out." Felicia-"Oh that is so romantic. Why did he run out?" Me-"I don't know." Felicia-"Maybe he's a spy and saw one of his eneimies in the coffee shop." I looked at her like she was crazy. And she pratically was. Me-"A spy?" Felicia-"It could happen." Me-"No it couldn't." Felicia-"You never know." Me-"I kinda do." Felicia-"Whatever." We reached the place in the sidewalk were we had to go seprately. She lived on Sunlight Avenue and I lived on Howard Street. She waved bye and walked her way. I'd only gotten far when I heard the voice. Josh-"Rebecca you just never do learn do you?" I turned to see him. His mouth was grinning, but his eyes were filled with anger. I did my best to sound confident. Me-"I have no idea what you mean." Josh-"You broke up with me cause I was a fighter." Me-"So?" He just laughed and shook his head. He took half a step toward me when I heard yet another voice, only I was glad to hear it. This voice sent a look of pure terror across Josh's face. Joe-"Hi Rebecca. Everything okay?" I smiled with both relief and thankfulness. Me-"Yeah I'm fine." Joe-"That's good." He didn't look at me when he talked his eyes just looked on Josh's eyes. Joe's eyes were glaring and looked eerie. Joe-"I was wondering, would you mind if I walked you home?" Josh then looked at Joe with disbelief. Me-"No I wouldn't mind at all." Joe-"Great let's go." Joe stayed beside me, as we walked then I heard Josh again behind us. Josh-"I'll see you real soon boy. You too Rebecca." I ignored his comments and continued to walk. Then I leaned over to Joe and whispered. Me-"Do you even know where my house is?" Joe-"No your actually going to have to dirct me." i hope you guys enjoyed this chapter

Chapter 6 Joe's POV *One Week Later* I stopped by the coffe shop a lot more than I used to after I found out Rebecca worked there. We talked everyday about different things, including Josh. The more I heard about him and what a jerk he was the more I wanted to go and punch him again. Only harder. But we talked about different things too. Every now and then I thought I heard loud giggling coming from the kitchen and then Rebecca would roll her eyes. Today was the day when I finally got the courage to ask her out. The second I walked in the door she set down a cup filled with of course chocolate cream coffee. Me-"Am I seriously that predictable?" Rebecca-"Well you've been ordering the same thing everyday." Me-"True." We sat there a while quietly, until I decided to ask the question. Me-"You want to go out?" Rebecca-"What?" I realized I had said that question to fast. I took a breath and said it slowly. Me-"Do. You. Want. To Go. Out. With. Me? Her mouth nearly hit the ground. Rebecca-"Uh, uh. Um, yeah um, do you need a refill?" Me-"All I need is an answer." She looked around quickly, then smiled. Rebecca-"I'd love to." I smiled and then ran out the door. sorry its sooooo short but i'm uploading Chapter 7 right now

Chapter 5 Joe's POV We were in! Tristin and I both made it to the Knockout! We weren't going to get our list of names until the night of the Knockout. Which Ronny said we wouldn't get to know the date until we were fake prank called to let us know that the Knockout was happening. When I got home and saw my face I nearly freaked out! I could see a black eye forming and my lip was bleeding. Me-"He seriously couldn't have hitten me that hard." I washed the blood off and snuk into the kitchen to get an ice pack. I sat with it pressed to my eye in my room for what was probably hours until Kevin and Nick came in. Kevin-"What's with the ice pack?" I removed it to show them my eye. Nick-"Who did that?" Me-"Nobody I was walking in the park and a kid accidentally threw his football my way and it hit me." I'd gotten used so used to lying when my secret would almost be exposed. We sat a while in silence, when I finally asked them a question I never thought I would ask. Me-"What do you guys think of fighting?" Nick-"What do you mean?" Me-"Like if someone voluntarly fought because he thought it was right what would you guys think of him?" Kevin-"Fighting isn't always the answer to stuff." Me-"What if they did it for their family?" Kevin-"Everyones got a fight, no matter what. We all do even mom, if this "person" was fighting for his family then that's his fight." It actually made sense and for once in four years I didn't feel wrong for fighting in the alley. Rebecca's POV Me and Felicia were both walking home from work. The sky had grown black and the street lights were shining. She was still of course talking about Joe. She wouldn't let the subject go! Felicia-"What was his facial expression when he punched Josh?" I groaned. Me-"Felicia I don't know I wasn't taking notes. Felicia-"Okay heres a good question, do you like him?" Me-"We've only talking twice." Felicia-"You so like him!" I rolled my eyes for about the 40th time that day. Felicia-"Lets just hope he isn't a fighter like Josh was." Me-"Yeah that would be bad. Do you remember how Josh would always cancel dates cause he was training for some Knockout thing?" Felicia-"Oh yeah all guys in the Knockout I bet are huge jerks." hoped you liked it

Chapter 4 Rebecca's POV He was about to say something. I just knew it, but of course my best friend Felicia called me into the kitchen. Me-"What?" Felicia-"Who is that cutie and where can I find one?" I laughed at her. She was 19 years old but talked like a 13 year old. Her hair was carmel colored with drak brown eyes. She was one of the few people who knew about how Josh treated me. Felicia-"Well come on? Where'd you find him?" Me-"I met him at the park this morning." Felicia-"Oh so your saying that you were just walking in the park and he said hi then you said hi?" Me-"He punched Josh." Her mouth fell wide open. Felicia-"Tell me everything. If you so much as sneezed I want to know." Me-"I was breaking up with Josh, finally, and Josh didn't want to break up. So he slapped me a few times and then Joe came and punched him. The end." Felicia-"Were there tears involved?" Me-"Josh looked pretty scared." Felicia-"Blood?" Me-"Felicia it was one punch." Felicia-"Not answering the question." Me-"Joe gave him a bloody nose." Felicia-"As of now I so like Joe more than Josh." Me-"You like vultures more than Josh." Felicia-"Maybe, but vultures don't punch guys for you." Joe's POV Me-"This is where you sign up for the Knockout?" I was looking at a beat down, falling apart, closed hotel. I'm sure that it looked fancy a few years ago, probably in the 1950s. Tristin-"Yep. Now lets go." He gave me a hard push to the door, then opened it. The door came directly off the henges. Tristin-"Oops." We walked into what I guessed used to be the lobby. There were old pieces of wood furniture that had been scrached. The carpet was torn off the floor and the remains of the front desk looked like they might break at even the smallest touch. Me-"Lovely place." At that point a guy bigger than a skyscraper came running out of a door. ???-"You two better be signing up for the Knockout. Or you'll be in a lot of trouble." Tristin-"That's exactly why we're here." ???-"Follow me then." We followed him through the door he came from and walked into what I thought was the coolest room ever. It looked like it might have been a party or occasion room at one point. The stage was the only thing that looked close to new. There was a blacony that wrapped all around the room and looked safe to stand on. Posters of fighters were taped to the walls. I could tell some were dated back to the 1920s. In the middle of the room was a large fold out of mats. ???-"Over here!" We walked over to were he was staning, next to him was a guy not as big as the first was still big. Ronny-"I'm Ronny." Tristin-"I'm Tristin and this is Joe." Ronny-"Nice to meet you. Whose first?" Me-"You lost me." Ronny-"You are signing up for the Knockout right?" Me-"Yeah." Ronny-"We'll we need to see if your worth watching. People from all over this state come here to watch and we're not going to just let two guys who look like they could beat you up, but don't know the difference between a sucker punch and a sucker. Boring! So I'll ask you again and not another time. Whose first?" I finally got it me and Tristin were eaching going to have to fight Ronny to get into the Knockout. Me-"I'll go." Ronny-"Excellent. I hope you know that we won't be fighting with gloves today or the day of the Knockout?" Me-"I know." We went over to the mat and each got into the fighting position. The large guard banged to plates together signaling for us to fight. Ronny gave me two quick jabs in the face, but I blocked off the three that came after that and was able to throw him on the floor when he tried to kick. I could honestly say he was tough to fight. I've been used to fighting a bunch of amatures from the alley. We continued to fight until the large guard pulled me off Ronny. Tristin-"Dude that was awesome!" He gave me a high five. When I turned around Ronny was smiling and extended his hand to me. Ronny-"Welcome to the Knockout." hoped you guys liked it!!
